Victoria Prentis Agee

July 14, 1941 - December 12, 2022

Vicki was the daughter of Lucille (Beasley) Agee and Donald Van Agee. She spent some of her childhood at her grandparents', Vic and Nell (Van Syckle) Agee, home in Louisiana, Missouri. She started elementary school in Louisiana before moving back to St. Louis.

She loved her family and always felt a connection to this beautiful, peaceful place above the Mississippi River. She rests here with her parents, grandparents, and loving relatives.

Victoria Prentis Agee Moffatt Groser had a smile that was always remembered and a heart of gold. Vicki was close to her family and grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, where she established lifelong friends while attending Webster Groves Elementary and High Schools. She was in choir, and on several sports teams, and graduated with honors. She earned the Ambassador level and Counselor-in-Training as a Girl Scout. In 1963, she graduated from Lawrence University (Appleton, Wisconsin) and was President of Pi Beta Phi, Mortar Board, and voted “most loved” on campus.

After completing her Bachelor of Science degree, she married the Rev. W. David Moffatt (deceased) and held a notable role as “the minister’s wife” in the Presbyterian church in Minneapolis, Chicago, and Indianapolis. She was an active and devoted parent to Jennifer, Michael, and Susan, as well as three foster sons – and prioritized her family even when she went back to school to get her master’s degree in Psychology from Purdue University, where she graduated with straight A’s and at the top of her class in 1978. She was active in the Indianapolis Public Schools PTA and engaged with other parents in supporting their children and the community.

Her career began as an intern at Crossroads Rehabilitation Center in Indianapolis, and she quickly moved up to the role of Vice President, where she stayed for 20 years. During that time she was President of the National Rehabilitation Association and helped the State of Indiana implement the Americans with Disabilities Act. Vicki mentored coworkers and developed another set of friendships that would last her lifetime.

In 1996, Vicki reconnected with her college sweetheart Luke Groser. She married Luke and relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she held the position of Director of Student Accessibilities Center at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee until 2007. She and Luke created a new life full of love and happiness. After they retired, they moved to Portland, Oregon, where they were members of the First Unitarian Church. During her retirement, she prioritized supporting and traveling to see her grandchildren. She also regularly connected on annual friend trips and reunions.

In 2015, Vicki was diagnosed with Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia. Her husband and family were devoted to her care as she gradually declined. She gracefully battled these diseases, and still smiled her memorable smile to caregivers.

At the time of her passing she was survived by her husband Luke Groser, their children Jennifer Moffatt (Mark Miller), Michael Moffatt (Jolene), Susan Moffatt (Ashleigh Flynn), Beth Groser Lewis (Matt), Jed Groser (Kathy), beloved brother Philip Agee (Stephen Penkowsky), and her grandchildren Connor Kelley, Jack Kelley (Ellen Gutoske), Lillian Moffatt (Hazel), Sammy Moffatt, JJ Miller (Abby), Annie Miller, Maddie Lewis, Grant Lewis, Beazey Lewis, Maya Groser, and Lucy Groser.
